Abdominal Separation

Rachael Boniface - Physiotherapist

Did you know all pregnant women have some degree of abdominal separation in late stage pregnancy. It’s called rectus diastasis and is a widening of your six pack muscle. Don’t stress Mumma’s!!

After baby is born the most amount of spontaneous recovery happens in the first 6-8 weeks.

This is a lovely early abdominal exercise you could start 2 weeks after birth to facilitate our abdominal wall healing.

Remember It should not cause pain (cease if it does) Take it steady Consult with your with your Women’s health physio around 6 weeks postpartum
